Hani's paintings offer a striking commentary on society, often capturing the chaos and allure of Amman's old cafés and neighbourhoods. “As an expressionist painter, I use my brush to portray the society around me, the human and his movements, and the person's memory. To me, ordinary faces play an important role in my thoughts; they provoke and instigate unknown things to me, and further they allow me to step into their mass where I try to see the world through their eyes in order to absorb and understand, better to satisfy my curious mind.”
His expressive brushwork and thick paint strokes reveal a deep engagement with his subject matter, which frequently revolves around the Palestinian struggle and the complexities of human existence. Through his art, Alqam invites viewers to delve into the intricacies of memory, identity, and societal norms, provoking thought and introspection. Many of his paintings serving as a powerful testament to his Palestinian heritage and his unwavering commitment to shedding light on the human condition.
